Financial Planner

Nelson has been a comprehensive fee-based financial planner since entering the industry in 2010; and believes very strongly in the value of planning for financial success. Nelson’s mission is to make sure that his clients have a very clear, step-by-step roadmap toward achieving their financial dreams for their families.

As a former Special Operations soldier in the U.S. Army, he understands that, though the plan often doesn’t survive the first skirmish, the exercise of planning is essential for determining long term success in any endeavor. In order to win the battle, first you must understand your objective, what you are trying to achieve; then you must accurately assess your own capabilities, measure them against the known risks and challenges, and formulate strategies to overcome those obstacles. Only then can you reach financial independence, have the retirement income you dreamed of, and ensure that your legacy is secure.

Nelson is very passionate about investor education and believes that his clients value the relationship he has with them for two primary reasons: not only do they potentially achieve more than they planned for, but they also own their outcomes because they have a thorough grasp of how their financial plan is designed and why each facet is critical to the entire system.

When he isn’t actively assisting business owners, farmers, ranchers, and highly compensated executives with financial planning, Nelson prefers to be outdoors enjoying the land and the water. He enjoys shotgun sports like Sporting Clays, riflery, archery, hunting, horseback riding and building things with his hands in his workshop.

Nelson is actively involved in the Farragut/West Knox Chamber of Commerce, the Tennessee Forestry Association, the TN Cattlemen’s Association, and the UT Institute of Agriculture. Nelson earned a B.S. degree in Forestry in 1996 and a Master of Business Administration in 2002 from the University of Tennessee. He is an Investment Advisor Representative and holds Series 7 and 66 registrations.
